There is no builtin (unlike in IV) speaker, hence need for bluetooth headset. It is not written anywhere, but my research on Internet and response from my BMW dealer confirms it - no sound from Nav V without bluetooth device. Obviously it makes alarm clock very useful as silent alarm
So you bought one before checking neither the BMW info nor the "GPS Info" forum on UKGSER? On the latter there are copious threads detailing the Nav V, what it can do and how to best use it....
Personally I have the sound disabled on my Zumo 660 as I hate the verbal diatribe. I find that when it wants to tell me something, the screen changes, and I see it in my peripheral vision, so no sound needed. So this issue with the Nav V requiring Bluetooth for sound wouldn't bother me.
May I please ask for some help here guys? Has anyone managed to get playlists working on the Nav V? I can transfer the playlists via iTunes from my Mac, and they show up on the Navigator, but are always empty on the Navigator?
I have followed the instructions on the help file, but to no effect.
Yes, music transfer and listening is all good. I have resorted to changing the genres of songs into categories instead of playlists. This seems to work quite well, but playlists don't work at all
