my friend bought 08 plate 1200gsa bmw what is the best way to wire up a sat nav , ive heard has canbus wiring ????just not sure how to do it for him nt help will be gratefull aka sheee

I've just gone straight to the battery, other bikes I've used a switched live, but this time just the battery.

I’m running mine from the battery as well as I remove it each time I’m off the bike. Just remember to put a cover on the contact as a mate left his off in the rain and it flattened his battery.

Surely the simplest way is to buy the lead from nippy and connect it to the socket BMW thoughtfully provided for the job. When you turn the ignition off the satnav will power down. Why faff around with inline fuses and 2 miles of wiring onto the battery which is, of course, permanantly live? Alan

There is a plug supplied for the gps just tucked away to the front right of the forks behind the plastics and as suggested you can get an adaptor to fit.

Dont use NN. Way to expensive

The mothership themselves do it for half of NN's cost

It probably is for this bike if the connection is still there but not in my case as it's nearly 30 years old and I don't want to mess with the electrics.

Where the socket is for the Sat Nav Lead down the right hand side at the front of the Bike, does anyone know what is the second socket is for?

Thanks.
