Decided to update my Garmin maps from 2010 to 2013 and found it would cost £50, as I only paid £100 for the thing nearly 3 years ago this seemed a bit steep.

A quick look at Halfrauds showed many much newer and more clever units at around £100, but none of them have either MP3 players or Audio out sockets.

I refuse to pay £400+ to get a bike dedicated sat-nav with less features than a £150 car unit, both Garmin and Tom Tom seem to think all motorcyclists are there to be ripped off - and it also seems the audio out is dissapearing from the bike units as well, seems a bit daft as most motorcyclists rely on audio out to hear the f***** things

Anyway, does anyone know of a new Sat Nav available with European mapping with an audio-out socket? and preferably an MP3 player as well.

Thought about an iPhone or similar?

Bit pricey and I don't trust phone hardware to be as good at picking up signal - especially anything Apple, they can rarely pickup wi-fi or phone signals:blast

you can get lifetime updates from handtec for £50

Most likely to update my rather wonderful Nuvi 350 as it does it all with audio-out jack and MP3 player, just hope it does not blow up!

My other issue is Garmin / Tom Tom etc. link mas to the physical unit so if you buy a map and your unit fails a day later its tough luck, you can't just buy another unit and use your map - robbing bastards!
