Sat navigation / autocom conundrum for new lc gsa

I just squeezed the Autocom under the seat of my GS800, and easily under the old R1200GS seat. However due to a stupid design change there is no space under the LC seat. Lots of fresh air under the really useless mudguard but nothing above, the screw driver/ oil cap tool is recessed into the rear seat because a tool roll will not fit. I did not purchase the tyre pressure device because I thought the space it occupies under the seat would be useful. The only thing I have found fits is an emergency space blanket, set of latex gloves and a day glow tabard.
To see BMWs thoughts on the storage a motorcyclist needs on a bike look at the tank compartment on the new GSA.

Got my Autocom / BTM-02 / Rideramp / Fuzeblock under the passenger seat.......

mcinlb, any chance of a few pictures. My super-pro auto duo autocom (sold now) was the size of a piano keyboard with multiple input-output options.

thought this might help someone else.

I've been buying bits in preparation...

bought the Autocom BTM02A dongle, it's the same item for new and old systems, I've got an Active 7 Smart.

I was a bit disappointed to read the fitting instructions to find out that I needed to chop off the plug on the power supply and splice it to the power for the main unit.

A bit of digging around and I found this on ebay

On the plus side it fits and saves me chopping the old cable, on the down side it's not exactly waterproof, but I'm sure I can sort that out
