SatNav newbie - 1st prob

Just received my first GPS - Garmin 2720. Slowly getting the feel for it - its going to keep me out of mischief for a while............

Just installed and unlocked Mapsource and encountered first problem. Mapsource cannot recognize the satnav unit.

Getting the message "please make sure device is connected and turned on (which it is). You may need to set the interface option on your GPS to 'Garmin' or 'host'." I can't find these on the menu options

Any suggestions much appreciated

Try another USB port, and when you find one that works, only use the GPS in that one.

Still no joy!

My computer recognises the device as a Garmin SatNav but when I try to save a waypoint generated on Mapsource to the device, Mapsource does not recognise the device as a satnav

You are trying to send the waypoint from Mapsource? And, that you are using the "send to device" icon as the "receive" and "send" icons can be confused

All working now after visiting Garmin website support.

Sherpa you were correct, it was a driver issue
