Glad you all seemed to enjoy the day or your bits of it.
Sorry about the (I think) one mistake missing the turn to Glatton. I had only just spoken about at the garage in St Ives, then promptly missed it. That stretch along the road running parallel to the A1 all looks much the same....as soon as we passed Conington airfield I knew it was coming up. I looked at the heavy recovery company with their dayglow trucks on the corner (which I remembered).....and then sailed straight past..... Still, at least we didn't need to go far and didn't end up turning around in a farm yard, which is usually where I end up.
I will probably organise a couple of similar jaunts next year, if anyone is interested. I would like to do one before December but the clocks changing screws any decent distance (200 miles + to make it worthwhile).
Next time maybe heading off to the Cotwolds perhaps, via Baldock, MK, Daventry, Banbury etc meeting say at Buntingford, or up into Suffolk....
