Im going for a run to Sunderland on Saturday, of course its not the usual Sunderland but the one on the Lune (Lancaster). Its via the Trough of Bowland and then over the tidal causeway. I have never been before so its an exploration visit that could easily end up as a crap day out, but on the other hand if the weather is good it looks very interesting.
Just a few riders would be OK, may need a few u turns etc to find a good route.

If anybody is interested 10.00 at Skipton little chef. Please let me know if you would like to come, If the weather forcast is very poor I'll leave a message here 9.30 Friday latest if its canceled.

I'm sorry I can't run that far.
If you had been going on the bike I may have been interested :D

OK, I mean a ride on my bike to Sunderland.
Are you now interested?

PS on my bike means on my motorbike.

The forecast is not brilliant but Ill be at Skipton little chef (roundabout on the A65 Settle end of Skipton bypass) at 10.00 tomorrow. Its about a 110 mile round trip if the weather holds up a bit, but we will cut that well short if its really bad.
If you fancy a longer ride don't forget Adams ride out to Tan Hill, my ride will just be a bit of a look-see.

Only two on this run, Me and my friend Dave. I was not surprised as it was very cold and foggy in the morning. If I had not committed to the ride I don't think I would have set out.
We arrived at Skipton at 9.45 in light fog and 2.5 deg c. This was much better than our horrendous run over from Leeds so we decided to press on.
As we started our ride through the Trough the fog lifted, as we crossed into Lancashire we had some tremendous views of the sun shining on the snow capped hills in the Lake district. It was bitterly cold at min 1c max 4c but clear blue skies.
We dropped into Morecambe for a bit to eat and then rode on to Sunderland point.

It was as mysterious as I imagined, and well worth the ride. The odd weather added to the adventure of the trip, and in this case worked out OK but I cannot fault the logic of anybody staying home today. Our run home was in the 1 to 3 c region and the roads were wet.

Also did a run to the lakes yesterday. A wet start but fantastic weather getting there and snow!!

Met the first gritter of the season on the way back :tears

Where's that ACF??

The ACF is now all over my bike. Sea water on the causway followed by passing a gritter on the Slaidburn road I thought it was time to give the bike a bit of T.L.C. I have an F800GS and its probably the hardest bike I have owned to clean.
