Hi folks,

With the green lane ride out around Cambridgeshire proposed for the following Saturday.

On the recommendation of Martin of this parish I am proposing a regular East Mids breakfast at:

Canal Cottage Cafe
Canal Cottage, Hopwell Road,
Draycott,
Derbyshire,
DE72 3PE

As we will be back to Greenwich Mean Time and cooler mornings meet at 10. 4th November 2023

Thanks
Gerry

I've promised to buy Glynn a cuppa at this one so I've got to turn up now...

Gerry, what do you (and others) think about moving this to Sunday? The weather tomorrow looks atrocious (cold, with a strong chance of heavy rain) & Sunday looks much more promising(at the moment...).
Appreciate the suggestion is short notice - just like reliable weather forecasts.
Just a thought

Sunday doesn't work for me as have other plans....planning on being there on Saturday (like Paul assuming its still on....) :)

Just heard from Tufty, Sunday doesn't work for him either. Looks like I'll need to risk assess when I open the curtains tomorrow...

Any short notice change can be difficult for many people.

There’s never any problem if folks come to the breakfast meet up in a car.

See you tomorrow.

Gerry

Not going to make it. Combination of factors, including but not limited to the weather - hope it holds out for you guys but it's filthy here already.
Disappointing - the cafe looks promising & I was looking forward to meeting up and partaking in BMW banter
I've already apologised to Glynn.

Thanks for organising.

Nice cafe, but I think we overran the place. Probably better in the summer when we can sit outside.

Great ride through some flooded lanes, getting wet from below and above all at the same time! I need a list of ESSO petrol stations, I had the fuel light come on and found a Texaco, their 'supreme' E5 is ony 97 Ron... Esso is 99, I want my missing Rons!
What a lovely little cafe with friendly staff that provided great service and the breakfast was good too. Ride home the long way to make the most of having got my gear on. Thank you for organising, home in time for the Baba's game!

Yes I agree as the room division also split the group.

The service was good though and they brought a treat for my dog. (y)

Good to see everyone and a much better turn out than I had expected and I believe all but myself turned up on a bike in the heavy rain.

Glynn even braved it on his push bike.

Big thanks to Martin for proposing today's cafe.

Thanks for organising , good to see everyone.
It was a touch moist, although a stint on the M1 in heavy rain and spray will make the lanes in the sunshine seem so much nicer tomorrow. :)
