My new GS is coming this October
Dunno if this has been posted here yet, and sorry for not posting here much, but...

This is what I've been waiting for...

From an unamed dealer newsletter:

In September/October 2005 BMW will release the R1200GS HP2. The HP is for High Performance and 2 for 2 cylinders. The hp will be in the 105-110 range, torque 110nm, and the weight will be less than 419 pounds dry, 441 wet. It is intended to be a rougher, tougher, leaner, meaner, enduro-oriented GS. I think BMW has had enough of this KTM talk (PD rally?) The HP will be produced in limited numbers (300-350) and MSRP for 20% more than a standard R12GS. Allocation will bring 2-3 to (dealer's name) and one is already spoken for. We will accept deposits on this machine only with the caveat that its uniqueness and limited supply do not allow us to provide any pricing guidance. It is my full expectation that these bikes will sell for some amount above MSRP.

I heard something similar earlier this week but with an even greater power output than 110hp.....

Seems a bit odd though with the 3 new bikes being released in the Spring already...
