Went in there yesterday put deposit down done the application and everything sorted by the time I walked out. Collecting my 1200 next Friday and the service, coffee & tea outstanding :thumb2

Speak to David Halsall the sales manager on 01992 583135, there is also a very nice HP2 with 16 miles on the clock going for £9500 and it is brand spanking new. £3k off the list price you can't go wrong if you want one.

:beerjug:

Wouldn't be a little SA nepotism going on there, would there??:augie

You're right though Maverick,David is a top bloke:thumb

Sorry mate I don't understand big words like nepotism :nenau
:D I am getting nothing out of any deals forthcoming just putting it out there for someone that might be looking for the exact thing and at that price they will thank me afterwards with a beer of course  ;)

i would back maverick up all the way. SBW Motorrad are a top bunch. David is very sensible on the sales side and the service and parts lads really look after you.

I bought a 1200GS three months ago and have been very impressed by the BMW experience offered by SBW.

When I did the deal for the bike I thought they were very practical giving me a fair P/X price and making very sure that I was happy with my purchase.

I get fed up with everyone whingeing and so it is nice to see a business that is trying hard getting some praise.

Dave :clap :clap :clap :clap

SBW

Cant say the same my self. Went to part ex a recent purchase, and went in on a Monday, Paul the no's 2 saleman ask if I could wait 20 min's, then dealt with another customer,so I left, went again three day's later, and was kept waiting for over half an hour, before I got to see Daved, again was told by Paul," be with you in a little while". still waiting
I did get to speak to Daved and yes he offered me a price for my bike but did not seem interested in selling me one.
Although this Dealer, gave me a bike to ride last year, for the Pink challenge run.???????
I cant say anything about the service department as I have not used them, yet.
I can only go on Marks Adventure advice.I can say that Graham in the part's department is brilliant alway's glad to help.
And the web site is not updated to often. I wanted to put my name on an event for September, phoned in and gave my details to George, He then phoned back telling me it was fully booked, but today this does not show this to be so ??. and this is my nearest dealer just 20 min's away.
Bill
PS. I agree about the coffee. very nice

I like the guys at SBW, they're just tooo busy though, so you end up hanging around waiting for someone 'in 2 minutes', but it's a nice friendly place which seems to be run by people with a passion for bikes. I got a good deal on my GS1200 last September and David sorted me out an excellent deal on some panniers, which as I had already settled for the bike was a nice bit of afterservice to follow up on.

Excellent service, know what they're talking about, and they give you doughnuts. I bought my 05 1150 Adv new from them, and they have done every service, and it has now just ticked over 40K.

:thumb I recommend them.

Matt.

Just a short follow up after my first service last Friday...please children sit down let uncle Maverick tell you a little story about dealerships and service :mmmm where do one begin :type It was a cold dark stormy night.......errrrrr  wrong story.

Phone just over a week ago and asked if I could bring my bike in for a service last week. Adrian told me they are pretty much fully booked but after explaining predicament of starting a new job this week and having inlaws visiting us he arranged for me to take the bike in last Friday. Early morning dropped the bike off and after waiting nearly 3,5 hours for my wife to pick me up (we were on our way site seeying to Cambridge) was told the bike is nearly ready. Asked if I can collect it on our way back the afternoon and no problem.

Arrived in Cambridge and received a call that followed a bit like this.

SWB: Bike is serviced and ready for collection
Me: Thanks, still ok to collect this afternoon
SWB: Errrmmm well there is more.......
Me: What do you mean there is more, the bike has done just over 600 miles and brand new?
SWB: Service was fine, lad on the roadtest had a slow speed spill
Me: (After a long pause wondering how slow the spill was if he had to tell me about it) So what's broken?
SWB: Clutch lever scraped, exhaust and rocker cover but we have ordered new spares and will replace it immediately
Me: OK so when can I collect it?
SWB: Unfortenately the spares only arrives tomorrow morning
Me: Can't do as we have a full weekend planned with inlaws from South-Africa and won't be able to drive back to Hertford to collect AND starting my new job Monday.
SWB: No problem will deliver the bike with a van at a convenient time.
Me: Saturday between 16:00-18:00.
SWB: No problem, there is one more thing...
Me: Yeah?
SWB: The standard end can is out of stock in the UK, is it ok if we fit a Acropovic?
Me: Ohhhh well if that is all you have go on then :D

Adrian personally delivered the bike just after 16:00 on Saturday and returned my bike as it was serviced with Acro fitted and original can in a box (which by the way has four small scrapes on that certainly is minor and proves the low speed spill. On top of this the service costs was halved and I can only say that even though this unfortenate event had to happen to them they went all the way to rectify the problem immediately. They will certainly get my business in the future.

My HP2 now sounds the business with the acro and runs very well, thanks :clap
