Before I take the 'wrong road' in putting this stuff on the helmet I thought I'd canvass other users that may have found a 'good' way of doing it.

1. I suspect that I should be able to clamp the control onto the side without using the adhesive backing that was included in the box. Does it have to slide between the helmet liner and shell....

2. The helmet is a pretty tight but comfortable fit. I can't imagine those speakers with the velcro staying in place when putting it on or taking it off? Is there a better way of attaching to the interior of the helmet?

I do most of the servicing on the bike myself so I don't mind plugging away on my own but this lid wasn't cheap so before I start cutting things I thought I'd ask the opinion of others...

Thanks in advance,

Ron

You might want to consider getting a second set of cheekpads so you can cut in to them to mount the speakers. I think they're about £35 from your local BMW dealer :thumb

Thanks Mav. I did also search and find an earlier thread concerning similar issues.

I got the setup installed in the helmet for a test with the speakers positioned where I believed the ears would be in line with them. I had them just tucked inside the lining where the cheek pad and rear liner meet.

I listened to music from a nano plugged into the control unit and I could hear it however if I factor in engine noise and wearing some ear protection I suspect I'll find that the speakers will have to be closer to my ears.

I assume that the lining on the enduro will compress somewhat overtime like other helmets allowing it to be put on and off a little easier so there'll be less contact on the speakers......I hope.

Gotta say - I've got well over 20k miles with my enduro..: it's still feeling pretty snug...

Well I'm glad to hear that Mav....I have to say that this helmet is a dream to wear.

After some fiddling around, helmet on/helmet off, I finally commited and peeled the backing off the adhesivse velcro tabs and placed them where I believed the speakers should go and went out for a spin.

It's all good.....frankly I find that volume more than enough in fact I had to turn it down a few clicks. I haven't tried listening to my nano plugged in but I have done bike to bike, FM radio and bluetooth cell phone call.

I'm very impressed. I guess the criticism I have read concerning the audio on these is from people/audiophiles who expect Bang Olufsen quality. I purchased this for reliable communication and some infrequent music as a diversion when slabbing on the straight roads.

It appears to be a good marriage with the Enduro helmet....I just have to find the easy method to remove the main set/boom mic from it's clamping position between the liner and shell.

Thanks again for the input Mav...
