Antbody experience of either, or even better, both?

I can get either set for about the same price, I'm after, Rider to pillion comms, GPS voice for me, phone access for me and Phone and MP3 for the missus sat behind.

I have the Q2, will do everything you specify but no phone or mp3 for the missus im afraid.
way it works is only one bluetooth connection at a time, the priority being
1. Sat Nav guidance instructions
2. Phone/MP3 via the sat nav.
3. Intercom with pillion
4. Built in FM radio.
in theory your missus could listen to the FM radio which would be interupted by any communication from you.
There is a lead that comes with the Q2 that would allow her to plug an external device like her MP3 player directly into her headset but im not familiar with using it , have a look on here

i use mine mainly for sat nav and bike to bike comms, i personally never want to answer the phone but the facility is there to do so via the sat nav.
its a great bit of kit for what i use it for, hope this helps

The problem with both rider and pillion listening to say music from one mp3 player or phone is that the phone/mp3/GPS etc will only connect to one bluetooth device at a time, the SMH5 will connect to up to 4 devices at the same time so you can have your phone connected to your GPS and then connected to the SMH5, which is the best way or you can connect your GPS and the phone seperatlely to the SMH5.

You can connect to your phone and the misses can connect to here own phone and MP3 and still be connected to you as an intercom. The SMH 10 is probably the best bluetooth intercom on the market at the moment for the money I have to say I maybe a bit bias as i do sell Sena intercoms but I do also sell the Interphone intercoms and Scarla Rider as well, I think the SMH5 is the best for the money if you only want rider to pillion and GPS/phone etc and the ability to use it as a bluetooth intercom for bike to bike occasionally, if you want to use it for bike to bike most of the time then I suggest the SMH10

I'm fancying a second smh10 for the missus to ditch the autocom which is on its last legs (after 10 years use) so would be interested in this as well

Hi Chaps, The price came down in the first place because the importers printed the price wrong in their catalogue this means there is very little margin at this price hence the cheapest UK Sena SMH10 is £149.99. i generally say £150 as its easier, the price should be £182.99.

As you have brought them from me before I will do them for £140 collected from the shop or £145 Posted to you.

Thanks for the comprehensive reply. I'm not needing bike to bike, just rider to pillion and the ability to hear my sat nave and have separate phone and MP3 connections for me and the missus.

Sounds like a pair of SMH5's will cover this.

Can I ask how much you could do a twinset for?

I have sold quite a lot of these and most customers have had no problems, I have had one or two with bent or missing pins but they have been replaced under warranty without problem, I even had them replace the clamp unit on one set which was nearly two years old recently, so if they do go wrong the back up has been there.

Hi Cliff,

I'm looking at moving to a BT set as well. What's swinging me towards the Interphone F5 is that they include the wired and boom microphones in the pack (I'll be fitting it to a system 6 helmet so don't know which is best). Sena in the USA list this option but I'm not sure if it's available in the UK? If it is, I'd go for the Sena as it looks a better piece of kit. Can you get the universal Sena kits?

Sena do offer a wired microphone as an option and with the system 6 helmet you do need that wired mic kit as the sunvisor control is in the way when fitting the unit, this means it needs to be fitted a bit further back so the microphone is not in a good position, the wired mic kit make it fit much better.

No problems like that on my Sena SMH10 set. they worked flawlessly on a 16 day tour around Norway and I have since used them bike to bike to very good effect.
