I have bought a Scala Teamset this week and am really really pleased with it. I'd recommend it to anyone for a hassle free wireless helmet headset.

Its paired up with a Sony Ericsson K800i phone and Zumo 550.

Its neat and easy to fit. Volume is excellent - good for 70-80mph with earplugs in. Making and receiving calls is easy.

I have yet to trial the rider to pilloin function, but one thing at a time.

So chuffed overall.

One problem I have is that for no apparent reason the Zumo and Scala rider become disconnected every now and then. Sometimes he reconnects automatically, other times I have to do it manually.

Has anyone else experienced the same problem, and if so - have you solved the problem?

Andy

Have had the same problem. Mine seems to disconnect about a minute after hanging up from a call.
I then have to reatart the Zumo.

I thought the old phone pairing direct with the Zumo might have caused the problem so I deleted and even reset all the pairings this but it didn't make any difference.

Scala works fine with the phone (I have same K800) so I'm guessing it's a Zumo issue but havn't found anything on the Zumo forum.

Cheers Padge. You don't need to restart the Zumo. Just go in to the bluetooth menu and select the Scala in the headet menu.

+1,
hacked me off so much got an autocom, much happier.

Thought it would be solved with 3.30, not yet. We live in hope.

Used my set up today for the first time, Motorola Pebl, scala, Zumo 550.
Caberg Justissimo helmet, no disconnection problems at all.
My problem is distinct lack of room for the Scala's boom mic' inside the helmet, and a lot of wind noise which is more pronounced because of the scala on the side of the helmet, with the volume on max it was too loud at low speed and OK at anything above 50 ish. Now wondering wether to get change lid.

The Justisimmo was the only helmet I got it to really work well on(they are prone to wind noise though).
It won't fit my system 5...
The Scala will auto adjust the volume depending on external noise, so I found it great for getting louder as I wend faster. Plus the volume buttons on the side are easy to get to.

I also found it easy to place the boom. align it with the left side of your mouth and not directly infront of your lips. You seem to sound clearer and it's out of the way..

has any one got a link to either a scala or other site with the operating instructions for the scala rider? Needless to say i have "misplaced" mine.

On the weekend I experienced disconnection problems and I'm pretty certain it is to do with the charge in the Scala/phone. As long as there is plenty of battery - no disconnections, Battery low or getting near to low - disconnections.

FYI, all you really need to know is to hold the big front botton down till it flashes red/blue/red/blue.. Then you can pair your phone to it.

The common perception between here and the Zumo forum is the disconnections don't seem battery related. They all seem to happen shortly after hanging up from a call whether fully charged or not.

Have there been any disconnection problems with these headsets with just the Zumo 550 & NO phone?? Is it possible to remove the the boom mic from the unit and run without it??

Cheers

Adie
