I have a pair of Q2's at the present time, but the FM radio has packed up on one ( my fault - I dropped it on the garage floor doh) and I hear the new G4 is better. But is there anyone out there that has a G4 and has also had a Q2? My questions are:

1. Is the new G4 FM radio much better both in terms of signal quality and holding the station? I find on the Q2 I get poor reception and it fades in and out. The new G4 has RDS - will that stop the signal moving all over the place?

2. Does the new G4 have a bit more loudness available for listening to music plus intercom? I could do with being able to turn the volume up a bit higher than I can with the Q2's.

Thanks for any input as £240 is a lot of money to spend.

Can't answer your questions but have you considered the Interphone F4?

You can buy a twin set for the price of a single G4. It seems to have all the features bar the FM radio but the radio feature is probably the most unreliable element in intercoms anyway

I recently upgraded from the Team Set and Q2 FM to the G4 Power Set. So after a few weeks of use, hears what I think.

FM Radio:
Much louder and clearer sound, but reception and dropping out seems the same. Its easy to operate, but RDS function doesn’t seem to make any difference – 6/10:confused:

Bike to Bike intercom:
This works well, very easy to connect to other G4’s, however, the range is much less than advertised. In town range is about 200 – 400 yards. Open country range about ½ mile – 8/10:thumb2

Rider to passenger intercom:
Excellent, good volume range and clarity. SWMBO able to nag me to death at 90mph – 9/10.:blagblah

Bluetooth:
Excellent, connects to my iphone and Garmen 660 (mp3 sound is very good) – 9/10 :thumb2

Wired Mp3 – I haven’t tried this yet.:mmmm

Overall. I’m quite impressed with the G4. It’s a bit more chunky than the Q2 but its quite easy to use, and looks well made. However, I’m disappointed with the radio function, so I’ll knock some points off for that – Overall 8/10:thumb2

Interphone F4

Anyone using the Interphone F4 ? If so, I'd appreciate your views.

Just bought the G4 Powerset for $425 delivered to UK on ebay. Can't argue on the price and just hope when it arrives it satisfies my needs. That is someone to talk to.
Wife really doesn't like bikes so, maybe borrow one out to a friend.

I've been using a Q2 for a year, just tried a G4 for an hour.

I expected a radio that works, but it was a disappointment. RDS was switched on but any station I picked would start cracking after a short while.

The size and weight of the G4 is an outrage and the audio quality is not much better than the Q2 either. I don't want one, I'll hang on to my Q2 thank you.

Cheers,
Michel
