Hi all,
Recently bought the Scala Rider G4 kit but soon realised that the standard boom mike was ok with my Arai but no good with the wife's flip front BMW 4.
Sent for the 'Corded G4 Audio & microphone kit' and even with this the mike wire is too short.
Is there another kit ?
Or can I easily extend the microphone wire ?

Have a butchers at the base for the new Scala G9. It's completely compatible with the G4 and has better speakers and interchangeable mic (you can swap to wire or boom mic as the mic just plugs into the base).

The guy at work just bought one and when comparing to my G4 boom mic, which I use in my Schuberth C3, the boom mic on the new G9 base was longer. The corded mic is designed for use in full face and won't work with a flip front.

The boom was about 1" longer than the G4 version. It is also much smaller and less intrusive.

Hi I have just bought a G9. I have a system 6 helmet which I beleive is very similar to the C3. Do you have any tips or pictures for fitting to the helmet?

Thanks

Ian

I had to put the base a bit further back than I'd have liked due to the internal sun visor button. To get the boom from the outside to the inside I cut a little slit in the skirt that goes around the bottom and brought the mic out from between the foam cheek pad and the shell (just above the press-stud that holds the skirt on.

My mic is just ever so slightly too short (it's not quite centred in my mouth) but it works perfectly fine. Since you have a G9 you should find it easier as the mic is slightly longer and not as wide so you can get away with a smaller slit in the base.

Make sure you run the cable for the right hand speaker over the top of your head and not around the back - you'll get better FM reception this way.
