SCALA Rider Multiset Q2

Hi
we have been using them, performed well on our June trip to croatia-bosnia.
Advantage is no leads to plug in just jump on the bike and go.
I found the top of the range autocom a hassle and next to useless as a communication system for a motorcycle.
The Bluetooth to the Garmin 660 is vey good.
Music is not too bad dual sterio they call it.
Easy to fit onto the helmet and the speakers are compact, you can easily move the Boom mike around, great when you are pulling on your helmet, just push the mike out of the way.
(I could not stand the autocom mike touching my lips all day as recomened).
A big advantage is that my Wife has her own bike and it is good for Bike to bike as long as you are within 50m of each other.
The rider communication was good but I have to speak loudly and then repeat the first couple of words again once the Vox has kicked in.
I had no hissing at speed.
The only problem is that the bluetooth sometimes does not want to play and does not connect then sudddenly comes to life.
The batteries last for ages.
Conclusion: its a good simple system that gives a basic level of communication OK until the next generation of bluetooth arrives.

Agreed. However, I believe the Bluetooth output is mono to twin outputs. I bought a new headset which has a stereo cable input for those times I want better quality music from the MP3 function of the 550 Zumo. For most things though its great not having wires. For the intercom its OK up to about 80mph above this it gets lost. I use mine in a Schubert S1 with my son using it in a Schubert R1. I get 8 hours out of a charge and I bought a recharger cable so I can charge the batteries off the bike, while riding if necessary.

The headsets can be tricky to fit on certain helmets so check before you buy.

Just fitted mine to a Multitech.. is it me or is the music quality when using the plug in MP3 way down on the Autocom?

It sounds very tinny- or is it just that the speakers need a bit of a fine tune?
