Fully wired ones tend to be thicker than the cheap composite only type, but you cant really tell without opening up the plugs or buzzing it. google threw up this as a diagram to use if you do want to buzz it. you need the 2nd diagram mid page if you want to transmit RGB.

Deleted account 220427002 Registered user Joined Dec 27, 2003 Messages 20,425 Reaction score 4 Dec 21, 2005 #5 don't fall for the gold plated bit... it's not that important.. the cable itself is more important if you can get hold of one of the scarts that come with Sky boxes you'll find them pretty good. some of the so called "good ones" have little or no screening between the cores.... hard to tell a good one from a bad one without plugging it in. but i have seen some bad ones having something priced at £15 or £20 does not guarantee it is good... but it likely isn't bad ( if you know what i mean)
