Schtum and Earache ride West - 2011

Our hotel for the night was a bit less spectacular than Gateway, but the view out the door was nice...

You're doing fine. Thanks for doing this - you might even inspire me to get my pics out of the camera...eventually...:blast

Up early the next day and we[re off in search of brekkie. Not a lot by way of food in Torrey, as the view of main Street would suggest...

But Schtum knows a place from a previous visit and it's just down the road a bit. This particular "bit" is about 75 miles, but I digress...

Great pics Earache:thumb

I took the guys round the 141 past Gateway last year and it's one of my favourite roads. One guy actually complained that it was too technical and he couldnt concentrate on the scenery:blast

We stopped at the 141 Diner were you had lunch and it's a cracking little place.

keep 'em coming:thumb

Nothing wrong with posh hotels - even hardcore bikers like finery at times.:P
I think the only dump we stayed in was at Torrey. It was a dumo but it was a clean dump, so it wasn't that bad.

You'll have to get over and take a cross USA trip with us - do it once or twice a year, so just yell when you're ready to come along. I'm heading back out June 28 through July 8, 2012.

Mike's a great guy. This trip was a bit of a whirlwind as we only had 8-9 days to do it in. That meant 3 or 4 700 miles plus days. Lots of Euro's aren't used to doing that kind of mileage on successive days but Mike hung in there even in the 105F temps across the midwest. I'm used to that kind of heat and even I was bitchin' about it.:D But we had big miles to covrer and not a lot of time to do it in.

At this point, it was time to head back east....

We left Utah and headed back to Ouray, Colorado - where my wife, sister and brother in law were going to meet us again.
