I posted a question a few months ago asking if anyone know of a way of keeping their Schuberth C2 visor fully open at 'reasonable' speeds. Both a friend (who has a Concept) and I were going to Spain for a couple of weeks
and wanted have the option of keeping the visor up at speeds above about 40/50mph
. Unfortunately no one answered my question....so here's my solution. It may appear a bit 'Heath Robinson' but it does work up to about 85.
1 Remove visor.
2 Remove little allen keyed screw holding the ratchet mechanism on.
3 Separate the 'inner bearing' that the screw went through from the ratchet mechanism.
4 Looking at the ratchet mechanism there is a small plastic lug which locates into grooves in the helmet. Apply a piece of insulation tape (yes really) one layer thick to the ratchet mechanism OPPOSITE the plastic lug.
5 Re-assemble.
I did 2 helmets and in 2500 miles I had to do mine once again, but I had experimented with this fix for about 500 miles before I went. It takes about 5 minutes to do, and as I said...it works.
Hope this helps someone.
