Schuberth C4 Pro helmet - leaking down the inside of the visor

My C4 Pro leaks when it rains - quite badly in that the water runs down the inside and pools where the visor meets the chin bar. If I gently move my head side to side, a not insignificant body of water moves side to side too, not unlike gently swirling a whiskey glass that still has a good mouthful left. This isn't "residual" water left from when it was open, either. Seeing it was raining as I left work, I put my helmet on (dry) in reception and fully closed the visor and chin bar before leaving the building and stepping out into the rain. My ride was only 35 mins home and whilst it was wet, it wasn't biblical rain, yet I still had water running down the inside of the visor (and have had this in the past with this helmet too). I've only ever owned two helmets, so I have two basic questions a) should a decent helmet like this be 100% watertight under the conditions I've described or am I being unreasonable? b) is there a known fix?

I understood that the older C4 had a similar issue but I thought this was fixed on the C4 Pro. I have actually experienced this issue with this helmet several times before but it was today when I thought "hang on, I've paid a lot of dosh for this helmet, it should be better". I am planning to make a warranty claim since Schuberths have 5 years and it's only 2 years old. Complicated by the fact that I wanted it in fluo yellow so had to buy it from EU as it wasn't available in UK.

Yep had the same problem with the C3 Pro and now again with the C4Pro.....
Water on the inside when it rains, bloody lethal can tell you.
You have to lock the Visier, took me a while to get that...you have to push it down and feel a little click.
Then had it with SCHUBERTH as well, apparently they adjusted whatever...
haven’t had time and opportunity to test as yet.....wait and see
Check if the lid is fully closed if you manage to push sheet of paper between helmet and Visier...
Make sure the seal is intact and not bend

nothing has changed since the C2, it seems!
only one thing worse than the waterfall down the inside of the (locked down in place) visor...and thats when the waterfall freezes!! (DAMHIK)

someone told me there was a kit to fix it, but I changed to a shoei neotec and that solved the problem!

I see... I'm reading that it is 'reasonable' to expect a watertight fit but an on-going issue with Schuberth then. My visor is definitely fully closed and 'clicked down', I always check when it's raining.

I had the problem with a C3Pro that I eventually solved, 99% anyway, by applying a liberal wiping of silicon (liquid) to the rubber seals.

I’ve done the same with my C4Pro since new and have had no problem, so long as I click down to lock it before the rain becomes too biblical.

No real problem with my C4 Pro. I was out in the pissing rain yesterday for about three hours.

I did notice one drip of water made it through, but that was it.

I had no problem with my C3 Pro either. Maybe I have just been lucky. I have always made sure that the visors clicked down though.

Mine did that, I sent it back to Hemet City who fixed it and gave me a loaner. I use Shoei these days ...

Same on my C3.

But I find it impossible to click the visor shut with 1 hand. Must use the hands-free riding position for a 2 handed click if I need it closed + sealed whilst on the move.

Annoying.

I pull down from the top of the visor, one handed
- might work for you?

Like to try that but seems difficult to find liquid Silicone here in the UK..
Any suggestions??.

With my last two Schuberths I always stored them with the visor open a fraction. This way the seals don't get compressed.

Similarly I never stored gloves inside a helmet. Over a period of time they compress the lining.

My C3 leaks so now it’s a summer only lid, I bought the C4 it leaked whilst in Spain and I had to seal the visor with gaffa tape, by the time we arrived back in the UK the front vent had fallen off and there was a terrible whistling sound from the L/h side, dealer gave me a full refund.

Replaced it with the latest shoei neotec and it’s perfect and feels snug and better quality.

I bought a C4 after so many recommendations on here saying what a great brand they were-utter utter shite !! Worst helmet I’ve ever had.Leaked like a sieve and the comms were unusable.

Yep my C3 Pro leaked the whole time I had it, about 4 years, never solved it.

My C4 Pro doesnt leak and the comms are ok but the fit is peculiar so it will be replaced in the not too distant. It is really tight around my jawline, i assumed it would give in the same way other helmets have but it is still as firm as when new.

I've had two C3's and two C3 Pro's and never had any problems with visor leaks.

I was talking to someone in December who used to be a poster on here and was a major seller of Schuberth helmets and the sh#te quality of the C4 range and number of returns almost did for his business and he moved into another form of retail

I wrote to Schuberth about this c2 years ago. Told them that water ran down the inside of the visor and interfered with vision while driving in the wet. This was particularly dangerous when driving at night.
They said take it back to dealer and they would forward to their home base service station.
I then only used on good bright summer days as I decided not to bother and not to purchase again.
Used my Shoei other times.
With hindsight should have looked to get the C3 recalled.

Needs someone like MCN or such ilk to take up and test.
But for me not on my shopping list for next helmet so will look elsewhere.

I've had two C3's and two C3 Pro's and never had any problems with visor leaks.

Similar tale, my two C3’s never leaked and neither does my C3 Pro... unless I didn’t click the visor shut properly.

Can be done one handed but it takes practice.
