Schuberth C2 v's BMW System 5
Previously had Arai's, then had a Shoei XR-1000 thingy. I liked the idea of a flip so went for the C2. Went to Spain and did a lot of thumb pressing in the forehead area of the helmet as it was too tight in one spot after a while. Then I tried to remove the vent on the top (was told I could do so by a Schuberth rep) but it snapped. Sent it back then went through 2 or 3 (lost count) further replacements due to poor quality.
Gave up and decided to try the BMW System 5 instead - different type of quality and feel (still good) and felt more spacious. Liked the Velcro pockets that you could place your speakers into but the snag was that they didn't line up with my ears anyway. Was very easy to open the helmet but the front vent was a git to open with gloves on the move.
In the end, despite being a good helmet, I decided to sell the System 5 and try my luck with another C2 mainly because I really did miss the sun visor bit. I'm sure I've got the same size as before but this time it fits better and the forehead section does not need to be pressed. The only negative is when comparing the opening mechanism to the BMW as it's much harder to open one handed. Head environment feels very comfy. Helmet is available in white which is a bonus.
Would recommended the C2, but the System 5 is also good. Personally I prefer the C2.
