I am looking to replace my noisy full face Arai with an open face model. I have done some research and tried some on and the best options seem to be the Schuberth C3 and the BMW System 5 although there is a System 6 out now.

Does naybody have these lids who can provide andy feedback. The Schuberth is the most expensive and the System 6 has just come out. I use an autocom so associated feedback with this would be good

Cheers:nenau

My first system 5 was very troublesome (replaced under warranty at 22 months old ), the second was much better but both of them misted badly and leaked water. Neither was as well built and robust as my older system 4.
There is a thread re a new system 6 on here about visor troubles and poor build quality.
I now have a Schuberth C3 and it seems a good lid, it's light , quiet for a flip front and the finish is good but the inner sun visor is very rattly .
It was £385 from Custom Lids in Newcastle.
Still not a patch on my Scuberth S1

I have the C3 and can use the autocom on my F800GS upto ~80mph. Beyond that it's a pain having the VOX trigger high enough to activate at slower speeds and not false-trigger faster. I find it really snug with the front encompassing my chin, which a nornal helmet would not be able to do. The lining is lush. I don't find the visor rattly.

I have a c3 and it's a brilliant helmet!! Replacement visors are expensive though (£60 for visor and £30 for pinlock), although I seem to remember someone posting about getting both for £45:clap Would love to know where he got them for that price as I'd recommend getting it as a spare at that price:thumb2

Update on my post

I stumped for the Schuberth C3. Got from Hein Gericke and with the discount available got it for £375.99. Early indications are good and it is so much quieter than my full face Arai.

The discount is available from 4theride.co.uk. If you create an account you can print a voucher for 5% off upto £100, 10% up to £200 and 20% of everything over £300, its quite a big discount if you are buying a helmet or other high price item.
