Wife fell in love with the Schubert in Feb at MCN.

Can anyone give comments on the lid - pro's or con's - and of course where'd be the best place to buy (or should I say best price - Helmet City comes in aroun 420 quid)

If you search the forum, you will find many entries for people who have been left dissatisfied with the C3, citing various faults from visor leaking, visor closing at speeds over 20-30mph, general build quality issues etc etc..

In my opinion, the C3 (non Lady edition) is overpriced for the quality of the product being provided, and trades largely on the manufacturers "good" name / reputation. I would not revisit said manufactuer after my personal experiences with a C3.

Sorry I could not provide positive feedback.

Your feedback is well received mate. Thanks for taking the time... :thumb

On the other hand, I've used my C3 to commute all winter and think it's a great helmet. Visor leaks and other annoying little problems have largely been sorted now and the price, though still bloody expensive has come down (got mine from Helmet City for £400, in person). I've had internal sun visors on a few helmets but the C3 one is superb with great clarity and no annoying edge to look at. It's comfortable, quiet, doesn't feel too heavy on my head and the field of view is almost as good as my J1 jet helmet. I have the bluetooth SRC which works really well and avoids having to have a lump of plastic on the side of the helmet.

My one gripe is that in order to be so quiet your head is almost sealed into the helmet and though venting appears good I think that I'll be swapping back to my J1 in the summer!

I have one been back twice as the visor has a dangerous leak at the top of the visor-bitterly dissapointed would not have another :(

Can anyone give comments on the lid

I ran a C3 for about 18 months.

Pros: V quiet, flip works well, seriously comfy

Cons: Fogging issues, visor closing at speed (hard), very heavy indeed (if you tour your wife should consider this, will make quite an impact on a long day in the saddle

My only advice is the obvious - make sure she gets a fitting before buying online, if you must buy online.

Fortunately Helmet City in Tatsfield is very close to where we live - however she tried the helmet on at the MCN in Feb this year. The big issue is that she wears specs and always finds it difficult with her face-shape to get a full-face helmet on and her glasses.......... so the C3 was a bit of a revelation and very comfy! :thumb

Had mine for about 10 months ( c3 ) and not had any issues in any weathers with it. I would say as with any new lid they give a little with use.

Would consider a lid with a peak next time as the internal dark visor is ok for glare reduction and super smooth ( nice touch is its invertable ) putting a hand up to block direct sunlight into your eyes is better.

Not noticeably heavy really, great to slip on over earplugs or in ear speakers as with the flip front up it goes over the ears very easily compared to my Shoei xr1000.

I quite like it.

And I do about 25k a year.

For future ref

Dont use a V2 Cleaning sponge on the tinted sun visor it will scratch it and will cost £40 for replacment....
I reported this some time ago to V and just wouldnt give me the time of day about there shite product...
there answer was its shuberth fault.:mad:who spent hundreds of thousands on product development
