schuberth c3

Just to update, helmet fully sorted and fuctioning correctly now.Oxford were useless im afraid.sent lid back after 2 weeks exactly the same.Schuberth sent modified parts to me directly.good service from them.

That is good to hear. Can you let me know how you progressed this directly with Schiuerth so I can try the same route?

My C3 has leaked from new, the visor closes itself above 30, the chin vent is worse than useless, its certainly not as quiet as they say, and the whole 'build' feels cheap & nasty.

However, its very comfortable, and warmer in winter than either of my Aria's, and the slide down dark visor is a great feature and v easy to use. Oh, and installing the Autocom headseat was easy.

I would have felt ok about it had it cost £200 or less, however, at £375 i feel it was a poor purchase, and i wouldn't recommend one.

3C ill give it 2p Yeoh

Yep mines great bought it at The London bike show MCN last Feb,

one small problemb, when I close the visor i need two hands to get both lugs (left and right) in order to get that click tight shut one hand soesnt do it :nenau but i can live with that I get a small exchange of air which I like:blast

the built in sun visor is great and that collar/skirt cuts the noise so much so I do not need to wear ear plugs :nenau

great Lid best Ive worn for 30 years. :thumb2

J1 open face

after reading above,

I just had to add,Schuberth J1 open face.

The best helmet I`ve ever had in 40 years!

quiet, snug, superb peripheral vision,

find it hard to believe, germans, like the yanks, usually very good at customer service!

24/7 rider, took me 2 years to get my hand out of my pocket, and stump up cash!

Watching for a sale, so I can plan ahead, for next one.

Every other year. try to renew.

Recreational riders should last long time!

Keep your feet on the pegs, and the wind in your hair! (shows my age)

The C3 is the best helmet I've had, and after many Arais I never thought I'd say that !! No leaks, quiet and the visor works perfectly.

Also the visor doesn't sound like it's breaking when I remove it for cleaning, unlike my Arai. Having been left 200 miles from home, on a Sunday, with a broken Arai 'sidepod' when it snapped when I was cleaning it, I appreciate the Schuberth system.

Overall a brilliant helmet.

My C3 leaks when fully "clicked" shut regardless....

does your visor stay open or auto shut over certain speeds?

Bought a C3 last week and my visor leaks also when fully clicked shut. Did a test today, gently poured some water over the helmet with visor clicked shut and it literally pours in through the visor, very very poor. Did the same test with my other lids, no problem.
I've found the venting very poor on the Schuberth, it fogs up really really bad, much worse than any other helmet I've worn, and it gives me ear pain. Although the higher pitch wind noise is very much reduced, I get much more buffeting and the 'booming' wind noise. Oh and it makes a horrible creaking noise when I turn my head to do lifesavers etc. The only good things I can say about the helmet is that the sunvisor is a great device.

Overall I am very very disappointed in this helmet, especially considering the cost. I am definately going to take this back, hoping to get a refund (not likely in the slightest), but at least getting the leaky visor sorted as it is I don't think it's fit for purpose, it's supposed to be a touring helmet. Who wants a touring helmet that lets water in?

I've since bought a Shoei XR 1100, very very nearly as quiet regarding the higher pitch wind noise, no booming, and a visor that doesn't leak. Feels much better quality overall as well. Only downside in the lack of sunvisor. Hopefully pinlock will bring out a hyper optik visor

I bought my C3 in Feb at the bike show and have had no problems with it at all and have a Shoei XR1000 to compare with. I use mine in all weathers, inc snow etc and has been great! Sunvisor is brilliant. Comfort is excellent and noise is reduced. Unless something happens with it to make me doubt Schuberth I won't be going to any other brand now..... :thumb2

Cue leaky visor, flip that flys completely off etc.... :blast

It's GRRReat!
