Managed to buy a new Pinlock Schuberth S1 Visor in Germany, where they are readily available (unlike in UK).
Here it is.........

Cost was 69 Euro's (under £50) and although I haven't tried it yet on the bike it looks well made.

Part # is 9400168085 for the whole system and both the pins and Pinlock insert are available as separate part no's to fit to it at a later date should the insert get scratched

Pester Headlynz (the UK importers) to get them into UK!!!!

Pinlock rip off!

Johnny I have been pestering Headlynz through Infinity in Portland St W1 who have been incredibly helpful. They have finally got a uk price for pinlock over here but here's the ripoff - £130!! What a f**king joke! Here is the email from Infinity:

"Nigel,

I have received some information today from Headlynz regarding the
Schuberth S1 pinlock visor. The price of the 'pinlonck' shield will be
approximately £89.99. The visor equipped with pinlock posts to take the
pinlock shield will be £39.99.

To be honest, I was quite shocked by the price of the pinlock shield. I
did ask them to double check the price, but it came out the same.

So, if you would like a pinlock equipped visor for your S1 helmet, it will
cost £129.98. I would need to take payment prior to ordering as previously
dicussed. I would expect delivery to be mid to late September as Schuberth
will close for the month of August.

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news ref. the price.

Let me know if you would like to go ahead.

Kind regards,

Cormac."

Johnny where did you go in germany? For that price I could ride over there and pick one up?

Johnny and I both got ours from the Schuberth distributor for Southern Germany who had a stand at Garmisch. You will almost certainly be able to get the same from any Shcuberth dealer in Germany and I don't believe we got any special show price either.

Got one from Germany, too, for 29 Euros or so. Terrific with the sh*** weather we are having here at the moment. The visor is absolutely fog free.

Why not just buy the kit and DIY, just need to drill 2 small holes in the visor using the template supplied and then put the pins in a secure?
Infinity sell the kits as well as all the inserts.
I have just got an Arai with pinlock and think it is a great and easy way to have a dark and clear visor, all in one, just need to find a way of carrying the insert when not fitted now.
