Anyone had this problem

The Schuberth SRC powers up but you can’t hear the tones when it does & although the collar appears to be functioning ok, all the buttons operate correctly with the appropriate flashing lights I am getting no audio whatsoever.

I have rolled back the firmware but still no joy.

Any Ideas?

I've had this happen to me twice...and both times the units were replaced under warranty.

How quick was the turnaround to get a replacement SRC?

They are guaranteed (so long as you have the receipt or proof of purchase) for 2 yrs and took me around 3 weeks to get it back.

The second time it took a couple of months because they tried to fix rather than straight replace. It took me jumping up and down to get a new unit.

I bought the Schuberth C3 & the SRC from Biker Land in germany May 2011, probably answered my own question, I'll send them an e-mail asking for support.

Thought It would be quicker going direct to Schuberth.

What you think??

Update:

Biker Land emailed a postage paid courier label so I can return the SRC to them, they have said they then forward it to Schuberth.

Would be better if I could have sent direct to Schuberth but hey ho.

I'll update this when I know more.

as a major supplier, they'll carry more weight with schuberth than you. Plus, they're more likely to try to keep you happy.

A much belated update :o

Well Bikerland were very good!!

Not so Schuberth!! They had my SRC for four weeks, when I eventually got it back they had replaced the unit, it wasn't new but a refurb, no note saying what had happened?? I reinstalled it and it worked ok.

My next proper ride was two weeks later half way through zipping through France the right speaker packed up and the left was running at half volume, gave up, and switched it off.

When I got back arranged for it to be returned again to Bikerland, this time it was returned after nearly 6 weeks and numerous emails in Feb 2013. Again replaced with a refurb and no explanation.

I chased Bikerland up to try and get an answer from Schuberth, the reply was "faulty and replaced under warranty"

Unfortunately due to work commitments I didn’t get out on my Bike till June last year & you’ve guessed it, back to the original fault of powering up but no sound, and the reply from Schuberth it's now out of warranty.

Bikerland were very apologetic and even offered 30% off another unit but I had given up.

I've since gone back to my trusty old wired Autocom

Anyone else gone back to wires from Bluetooth?

Daizer,

Nobody knows how truly good a product is until it comes to after-sales support - and then it becomes a somewhat personal experience.

I recently asked Sam Wray at Chainspeed who is an Autocom guru and also sells a number of competing Bluetooth systems why he does not carry the Sena brand. The reply was that the UK distributor at the time seemed not terribly interested in helping him to keep his customers happy. 'Nuff said - and of course the experience of others on this forum may vary.

This poor level of customer support used to apply a few years ago in the Tom Tom vs Garmin debate. I understand that the Tom Tom support is now greatly improved.

In neither case am I prepared to put my own money on the line to find out whether all this is true.

John
