Has any one got any good or bad experiences(non smutty:augie) with the Schuberth C3 flip front helmet ?
My Arai Rx7rrrrrrr - r needs replacing. I have been very happy with the lid but have been wondering about a flip up lid as a replacement.

Cheers,

Rich

Really happy with my C3. It's better than the C2 was, quieter than the Arai that I had before and the sunvisor is worth its weight in gold. Do try one on though 'cos the sizing is different from the Arai's.

Cheers

Except for being noisy, leaking, and visor will close above 40km/h.... well you should be able to guess my opinion about it.

I think my C3 is a lot better than the original Concept which I still have somewhere. A lot more room for my chin, the sunvisor works really well, I don't think it's much quieter though.

Not had issues with leaks, but the visor does shut itself above a certain speed, ok once you are used to it, but a bit of a surprise first time.

Went from an Arai Viper GT to a schuberth but when it came down to it did'nt get a C3 as heard differing opinions and did not want to take the risk of buying from HG and not being able to take it back if it did'nt suit. So bought a discounted S1 Pro from a ebay dealer (taking a chn=ance i know !) at a drastically reduced price.
So far so good did about 4k in it sofar and very pleased, very quiet good quality of fittings and finish. In a different league in the sound level department from the Arai.

Hmmm, interesting, thanks guys.
I wasnt aware of the leaks and the visor shutting, is that the flip up front or just the visor that auto shuts?
The C3 is also 100g heavier than the new Arai rrrrr.

Think its time to visit my local helmet emporium:D

One of the other reasons for trying a flip front is that I have just done the National Rally and a friend I was riding round with was using a Laser(I think) flip front and it was very useful at checkpoints/garages etc

I have never had any problems with my helmet. And it doesn't leak even in excessive rain. The only "issue" I have is that it seems to be a bit large compared to other helmets so of image is your thing you should probably look for something else :)

I also experienced the auto-shutting (over approx 35mph) and leaky visor syndrome of a C3. Finally lost my rag when the internal visor fell off diagnally acroos my face whilst in transit - just not the quality wxpected of a circa £400 helmet in my opinion.

Have since purchased a Shoei Multitec with which I'm very happy. Not any noisier than the C3 was, smaller shell size so not so spaceman like, not missing the internal sun visor...yet!

I have taken mine back and am awaiting a decision about a refund. The thing vibrates if you try riding with the visor slightly open. At one point I grabbed the visor to stop the helmet moving about and the thing came off in my hand at 70!

I have had Arais for years without a problem and also have a Skorpion bought over the internet. They are both great.
