Do you no mean Newton Stewart?

How where the roads Hank,

I'm hoping to get out tomorrow depending on tonights negotiations :)

I didn't go down to Galloway so don’t know what the roads are like there. I headed out nearer lunchtime with the intention of doing a Circle via Lanark, Biggar, Moffat and Dumfries. The A71 was in absolute shit state, it was so greasy & muddy I had to keep stopping to clean my visor.

So after lunch at the Europa Truck Stop I decided that a cleaner option would be to head down the A74 and make a quick raid over the border into Sasana and then return back up the A74.

I am not a fan of motorways but it was an OK trip.

If you have heated gear I suggest that you use it if you do go out tomorrow, I was well wrapped in layers but the cold still got through. (I really must get around to fixing my heated grips.)

My thanks go to the gentleman behind me in the queue at one of the service stations, he insisted on paying for my coffee and cake as he was a biker himself but his Pan would be staying in the garage till summer.

Re negotiations, just do what I do. I am such a thorough nuisance when I am in the house that eventually Petite Pillion turns round and says, "Why don't you get the bike out and go for a run"

Have fun.

tried that one before, doesn't work in ma hoose, she just give's me a list of DIY things that need done :augie then new negotiations start :blast

Just apply the same DIY philosophy!

Out in the Lammermuir hills yesterday on my wee XT350 - absolutely hellish! Ran for miles in freezing slush between six foot walls of filthy snow. Nearly fell off when front end decided on alternative route - probably would have been down if I'd been on my GS. It's away getting a recon gearbox fitted.
Heated grips - yes please.
