Hi
Have a Nolan flip at the moment, never had either of these makes. Read lots about Shoei, just came across Scorpion. One is £600 the other is £250. Tried both and fit fine. Trying to decide if a) I bought Scorpion I’d be wishing I’d bought the shoei, or b) £600 is way too much to spend when I could spend less than half.

Maybe just a personal dilemma to work out but if anyone has similar experience or useful advice I’d be interested to hear!

I have been running a Scorpion Exo-Tech in parallel with a Schuberth C3 for the last 4 years.
The Exo-Tech is fab for commuting and trail riding when it's good to use as an open-face helmet (ang have the benefit of full face on faster bits). It is noisy tho.
The Schuberth is much quieter at speed, so it's my go-to helmet for touring and faster road work.
After 4 years, the Scorpion is pretty knackered, whereas I am still using the Schuberth quite heavily (doing Blood Bike shifts thru winter). The lining on the Scorpion has aged quite a bit, and it's looking generally aged and scabby...
So in summary, the Exo-Tech with it's "full flip" is fab, but it makes a noisier helmet for speed work, and the build quality is (as you would expect) not on a par with better "quality" helmets.
I only paid around £170 for the Scorpion (on deal at the NEC bike show), whereas the Schuberth was more than twice the price, so it's no surprise really! You could go with the Scorpion and just replace it more frequently and still save money!

I Have a Neotec 3 and it really is a lovely lid. Quiet, well made, lots of bells and whistles - it ticks all the boxes. That said, it is pretty pricey and if the Scorpion ticks your boxes to the same extent, then it's the right way to go.

At motolegends yesterday and looked at a neotec 3 then picked up the scorpion and put it down, very plasticky and cheap feeling, just my opinion

If I was looking for a Neotech 3 I would phone MOTOCENTRAL and quote UKGSER - you may be pleasantly surprised :)

I’ve just changed from the Neotec 2 which I’ve had for 6 years to a Scorpion ADV9000 as I simply couldn’t justify the cost of the new Neotec.
Only had the Scorpion a couple of months but am initially very happy with both the quality and the fit.
Managed to get the colour way I wanted and fitted with a Sena 5s, plus it included both a pin lock insert and a smoked visor for £406, although I notice the price has now increased.
I bought it from these guys and the service was excellent.

What value do you place on your brain, is the question? Once damaged, it permanent and irreversible.

Say you went for a £600 Neotec 3. Its usable life span is 5 years. Some stretch it out a bit longer, but this is not advisable.
£600 divide by 5 = £120 divide by 365 = £0.33 per day. You are more likely to be wasting more cash in same span of time, on shite you actually do not need.

Watch this video, neither of the two brands are mentioned, but interesting stuff nonetheless.

Thats why i wear a piss pot. To late for me in the brain dept.
To be fair, wearing any helmet is better than not wearing one at all.
The OP (if funds are tight) perhaps should evaluate his risk factors, such as if he's riding only a 1000 a year on a sunny summers weekend, then perhaps he can get away with a cheap yet latest 22.06 accredited lid.
However if he is a commuter, who will cover 10000+ miles a year, then it is a no-brainer to invest in the safest and most comfortable helmet possible.

Or use UKGSER discount code for 10% off , then screen shot that and send to Motolegends who will beat it by a further 10%.
Get a plain Neotec 3 for £478

You can still get the Neotec 2 for under £400. When I changed helmets I had a cracking deal on the 2 at Motorlegends, under £300. The 3 was out and they were getting rid off old stock. I had the opportunity to compare the 2 helmets side by side. Apparently the 3 has better ventilation and now you can crack open slightly the visor instead of having an inch gap when you want some air.
I rather have a System 7 for £245 it is a bargain. https://www.ebay.co.uk/sch/i.html?_...parksmotorgroup&_oac=1&_nkw=helmet motorcycle
Chin piece comes off to turn it in a open face helmet.
