Had a dry run yesterday with the new tent, a little slow but that will change with practice, just hope it is not blowing a hooly the first few nights. Had a quick blast up to the 'Welly' this afternoon, just to get an idea of timings. Just need a new head torch and some gaz for the cooker - sorted. Oh I might buy a mallet - Halfords have them for £2.95, there again I could just take a hammer out of the garage

New tent all tested- pished it doon and we stayed warm and dry:D

The chair is comfy too.

Day 1 Saturday 25th April 2009

This will be one of the longer days for some depending on where you are coming from. The route will start from the Green Welly shop at Tyndrum and we will head off towards Cairngaan which will be our first compass point (we can arrange rendezvous when I get a final number of people and see where everyone is coming from). However, we don't stop long at Cairngaan, we will push on to the Castle Douglas area where we will spend our first night. Accommodation yet to be agreed and is next on my list.
From Tyndrum to Castle Douglas - 226 miles

Day 2 Sunday 26th April 2009

From Castle Douglas (or wherever we decide to stay the night in that area) we head off towards our second compass point. We head up towards Edinburgh by-pass, stopping on-route at Roslin for a break (good opportunity to check out the chapel I thought). We will reach the end of our day at around St Andrews on the East coast and this is where we will spend our second night.
Castle Douglas to St Andrews - 186 miles.

Hey chaps i was wondering if there is room for a wee one for the Sat night. I worked in the D&G area a long time ago and quite fancy a return trip. It would give me an opportunity to try a camping trip for the first time on Geraldine. Are the details still the same.

I promise to bring Jaffa Cakes...

Ready to Rock!

Well that's the bike all loaded and it looks fechin heavy, I'm willing to bet I've taken way too much stuff! :augie

Anyway, hope you are all ready to go? The weeks weather looks like a mixed bag but hopefully we will get some sunny days. Prepare for the worst and hope for the best as they say. Anyway, it'll be dry on the pub

Off to check my tyre pressures now, I'll see some of you at the Green Welly tomorrow at 9:00am, please remember we leave at 9:30am for Cairngaan where we will meet with some more of the group, then it's off to Castle Douglas to meet the rest.

Drive Safely :thumb

Clean bike

My plan was to give the bike a good clean for the trip. But it started to rain and I'm pretty sure you're not supposed to wash them when it's raining. :augie

Anyway, bike loaded and ready for the off. Now just have to set the alarm for 3:30

Final Farkle
