SCOTLAND EASTER

WE TRAVELLED UP TO THE SCOTTISH HIGHLANDS OVER EASTER STAYING OVER IN ULLAPOOL
WE DID 1000 MILES OVER THREE DAYS ON THE BEST ROADS IN THE WORLD.
WEATHER WAS GREAT, ROADS DESERTED WHAT A PLACE TO RIDE YOUR BIKE,
ONLY TROUBLE WE HADWAS MY MATES HONDA HAD A FLAT BATTERY DUE TO LEAVING HIS HEATED GRIPS ON OVERNIGHT, WE BUMPSTARTED THE BASSAAR [HEAVY] AND AS AN ENGINEER BY TRADE HE PROMPTLY RIDE 200 METRES TO THE NEAREST GARAGE AND TURNED IT OFF THE DIVVY, ANYWAY SOME BIKERS FROM SUNDERLAND WERE IN GARAGE SO WE ASKED FOR A PUSH, THEY SAID THEY WERE TO BUSY AND F...D OFF BASTARDS,
ANYWAY WE JUMP STARED THE BIKE AND WENT ON OUR MERRY WAY ONLY TO FIND A FULLY LOADED ADVENTURE ON ITS SIDE IN A PUDDLE , THE LAD WAS FROM NEWCASTLE SO WE LEFT HIM [WE ARE FROM SUNDERLAND] NO SERIOUSLY WE GAVE HIM A HAND TO PICK IT UP, IT HAD MORE EXTRAS THAN JAMES BURTONS AND WEIGHED A TON,
ANYWAY WE HAD A GREAT WEEKEND BIKING DRINKING ETC.
I WOULD RECCOMMEND A TRIP UP THERE AS SOON AS POSSIBLE BEFORE THE MIDGES COME OUT.

NICE PICS, ALTHOUGH NO NEED TO SHOUT Seriously, it is much easier to read your words of wisdom with a proper mix of upper and lower case. All upper case is used FOR SHOUTING!

Must take your advice to get up to Scotland - maybe next Easter if the midges tip is good.

How did we miss you?
Me and Chris Kelley were in Ullapool on Sunday, before we jetted off to the Outer Isles.

To be honest, I thought there were less bikes around this year than previous. We met one guy on a blue 1200, in Ullapool, with full luggage and camping kit, who come from Lunnon, via Applecross and was on his way to John O' Groats (well, I suppose you've got to go there once, just to say that you've been ). Apart from him, there didn't seem to be many of us about.

Scotland

Depends how long you have but,we did this in three days.
Thurs in pub with Mr Burton and Wiily my mate, drunken decision, lets gan to scootland good friday,
Friday dawned groggily we rode the A68 from the northeast to Edinburgh then over Forth Bridge up to Perth, we then travelled the Scottish TT up and over Glenshee on fantastic deserted roads, then skinny road over to Tomitoul and then Inverness, up the race track 45 miles to Ullapool for two nights Milage 365, ready for a neet on the beer. standing of couse.
Saturday lovely sunny morning we travelled up the Scottish coastal route with ice blue seas and spectacular views[even willy was impressed] north eventually arriving to get ferry to Cape wrath but the sea was a tad rough so we went for our dinner instead in picturesque Durness,
Then on along the northern most coast the uk to Tongue in glorious weather, with palm trees and white beaches we turned south back to Ullapool for yet another night drinking beer its a hard life on the road.
Sunday we had to go home so we set off towards Inverness and turned south towards Achnashen which was a fast a road which after about 30 miles changes to a rough single track goat track but eventually opened up again as we travelled through [unfortunately Applecross was too far out of our way today] Strathcarron, Dornie then on to A82 to Invergary, then south to Fort William, Ben Nevis was on view for a change with snow covering then onto Glencoe which looks completetly different when the sun shines,
We arrive in Clifton' s Green Welly rest stop after a brisk 200 miles, cup of tea time then back on bikes down yet more gret roads to Stirling, then onto the boring motorway to edinburgh , byepass, Peebles borders and home by 5.30pm [456 miles today] just in time for the quiz in my local, again a standing quiz as we had covered nigh on 1000 miles in three glorious days riding.
