Leaving Cardiff area 24th to Dumphries overnight.
Fort Bill 25th
Skye 26 & 27
Sebergh 28
Home 29th.

Plan to leave Cardiff on the 24th
Day 1 Cardiff to Keswick
Day 2 Inverarary via Gourock ferry
Day 3 Applecross
Day 4 Ullapool via coast road unless its really rough.
Day 5 Sedbergh (Lake district area)
Day 6 Cardiff

Anybody got any recommendations for B&B's in Keswick, Inveraray, Applecross and Ullapool.

The best place for food in Inverary is the George hotel also great rooms but quite pricy for accomodation, good basic accomodation in Ullapool is the Ceilidh Place very cheap basic and clean, good food down at the harbour sorry cant remember the name, wigwams in Applecross campsite are basic and clean first class food in the Applecross Inn you mave have to book for a space but well worth it, also try independant hostels normally all ok and cheap, hope this helps have good trip Steeevo p.s watch out for unmarked traffic cars and bikes espcially on weekends

Thanks Steevo, all booked now.

I'll keep in mind your recommendations for my next trip :thumb2

Good old library

Good book to get lists some wild camping spots COOL CAMPING SCOTLAND by rob Mckelvie & jenny Mckelvie ,will be island hopping with my bros end may to early June so will probably miss you hope ur marrying a good one or you might be looking at your last trip .?

Asked in my local library if they had or could get it, couple of weeks later I'm sat on a sunny spring day reading it :thumb2 imagine the weather being like this at easter :aidan

Spoke to Pnewman and seem to have a route coming together any suggestions for must sees or avoids

Here it is.........

Leicester - Galloway forest - Oban via coast and Dunoon ferry - Mull(craignure) - leave Mull(fishnish) - Mallaig via coast - Sky(armadale) - leave Sky(uig) - Harris(tarbert) - North to Lewis(stornoway) - Ullapool - Head south via Applecross and Glencoe.

What Ya think :nenau

Sounds beutifull in a sort of non beutifull biker way :) ,i'm feeling the zen for the trip, i'll have my sense of humour too unlike some on this board :)
i'll check that book out too ian , on the kindle:thumb2

Getting close to trip now two days to go!!, just trying to work out how to strap the kitchen sink to the bike!!:thumb2
Hope the weather is kind so I carry all the wet weather gear for nothing:)
The only thing I want to avoid is the cities, the rest last year was great:)

BMW GS top bikes (when they work)

Well we made it to Mull wild camping at it finest perfect bike for the differing roads and gravel tracks to find the ideal camping spot :thumb great bike for the faster roads and motorway cruising :thumb

But then my FD failed :blast vibrations oil leaking, no one in the group had a signal, let the adventure begin :augie camped for the night then road steadily back to ferry port. clonked my way on to ferry and called BMW assist from Oban got driven home and bike now at BMW :tears

So finally after all the reading about it I'm seeing the reliability of BMW ,another mate on a 1150 broke down on the way to meet us and blue bird failed to get there i made it but came home in a van not good really is it.:green gri

So while I'm twiddling my thumbs i thought i would look at alternatives and made a visit to my local triumph dealer who said 'if you want more then a hour test ride buy one' so bo:censor:ks to them ill keep my 8 grand thank you

made it

Im in a place called carsethorn on the solway firth.

bikes singing sweetly at the moment,

Fort bill 2moz for the nite,
Then ullapoll via applecross (heard it mentioned that many times thought I better have a look).

Dunno after that.

Got back about mid-day today, just in time to miss the event.

Met a few tossers on the way 2gses & son (Motorhome with bike on the back):D, Masterbaker at Applecross and MasterDragon on the way home (Good luck with the new bike).

The airhead R100RS sang sweetly all the way up and all the way back, just can't feel my finger now. :D

Thanks to Oynach & Tash for their hospitality, it's good to see the kingdom in such fine fettle. Weather was absolutely brilliant.

All in all a great few days that will be repeated as soon as I can wangle the time off.
