Netwarrior, Hi, I cant see the thread on the 650 website ?
I did have a go at it last year on my 650, comments here.
I would definitely not take my GSA up there, perhaps if/when I get a smaller off-road bike I will give it another go.

Anyone know of any trails around Loch Tay, Glen Lyon, as I am there in a couple of weeks and have considered taking my DRZ?

Mike.

Hi Dave,
From your posts I'm guessing your from Kinloch Leven?
I've just moved up to Tyndrum and brought my enduro with me, would you put up with a tag along on any of your days out??????
Desperate to ride my bike but don't want to ride where I'm not legally allowed to.

Cheers,

Andy B.

Excuse the zpelling !!!
Has anyone done the above Fort augustus/Laggan route at all ???

I did it on a MB a few years ago. The southern end was in very poor order at that time with all of the smaller stones and gravel having been washed/worn away leaving the big flat foundation stones exposed. It was impossible to ride up as the cracks between the rocks were perfectly sized to put a MB wheel into. With the steepness of the incline I couldn't get enough speed up to precisely control the placing of the wheels and and I ended up pushing/ carrying the bike most of the way up. The northern side had been subject to some maintenance by the Hydro board as they had put new cables through the pass. The top dressing was hand sized bits of shale/slate which slipped very easliy if you tried braking. At least the descent was fast:D

It’s washed away!
Spoke to a bloke that took his landrover up there last weekend, he told me that its completely impassable now as large sections have washed away over the winter.
Mountain bike, probably.
Trials bike, almost certainly.
GS, no chance.:nono

Any owners of large tracts of land in scotland reading this? You could make a fortune!!!!!!!!!

Its got chickens in it and if I hit one she'll hit me!!!!!!!!!!

re trails

i have rode the corry pass loads of times and never been abused by anyone (4 of us on ktms) there is also a trail called the devils staircase which brings you out at the clunie inn and another trail sets away from the clunie up over the first mountain pass,i will be getting another bike shortly and will be tackling these again i would not dream of taking a bmw up any of these passes as they are a bit on the wild side and yes before people start slating me ive been off roading for 11 years now also ex quad rider and trials rider cheers for now

ps the law in scotland states you must seek permission from the landowner we have in the past asked a couple of farmers that we have met on the trails and they said a deffo no so whats the point in asking was my reply and guess what he couldnt answer :augie

Has anyone asked permission and got it I wonder??????
