Won't last long if this is Polis Policy........

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-scotland-glasgow-west-35334175

A convicted murderer, out on unescorted "leave" - fails to return to prison.

The public have been warned not to approach him - 'cos he's dangerous!

"Police Scotland have appealed for anyone with information about Wilson's whereabouts to contact them.
But they have warned members of the public not to approach the killer, who was convicted in 1991"
.

So - if he's that fcukin' dangerous - what the fcuk is he doing out of prison in the first place?????

You couldn't write the script........ :blast

Al :(

Not a lot to do with the Police. They send the baddies to court, court sends them to prison, parole system lets them out, under prison escort or governance.

Police don't get involved until they go missing and then they have to find them. That's after the prison governor's counted to 100, covered his/her arse, and made the phone call.

I knew that as I wrote it, and did wonder how long it would be before someone(s) pointed that out......

WTF is a "fed", by the way??

I feel sorry for the new guy.

He has a mountain to climb to make Police Scotland work.

It was forced through by the SNP and its then idiot justice minister muppet Macaskill to create difference between Holyrood and Westminster and has never worked, and I suspect never will.

There are many arguments, most of them valid, for combining Scottish forces; this would have been the sensible option....one size fits all for a country like Scotland can never be efficient.... or welcome.

It was a political exercise, nothing more.

The clue that it was nothing to do with the police was in the "fails to return to prison" bit. :blast

Chief Constable's job safe..........for now!

Lefty police chief and politicians maybe ?

Everyone deserves a second chance ..... TO KILL remember ? :blast

My new to be "Son in Law" has just passed out from Tullyallan.
I'm actually very proud as it continues the traditional polis connection with my family (my Dad was in for a very long time)
The principals seem well founded with their training but - is it enough?

As long as he concentrates his resourses on victimless 'shooting fish in a barrel' crimes like speeding then he'll do fine, money raised combined with money saved not having to investigate real crimes and going to court etc.. win, win for the politicians and the feds.
