I'm looking for a couple of waterproof over jackets, one for me and one for the other half. Does anyone have any experience of both the Scott Ergo and Rev'It Cyclone?

The Scott is £20+ more, is it worth it? They offer a ladies size where Rev'It don't. Any thoughts?

The Scott is excellent IMO and the best over jacket out there
I found they measure up quite big so try before you buy as you dont want it loose and flapping

I’ve got both, although the Rev’it is ancient now but I don’t think it’s changed much.

Scott is far more robust, higher collar and slightly stretchy so a better fit. Waterproof zip on the Scott rather than a gusset thing on the Rev’it. The Scott is slightly longer than the Rev’it and better fitted around.

The Rev’it feels flimsy but packs really small and tight. Slightly better cuffs on the Rev’it but not such a good collar.

the Scott lives in my top box or over my bike jacket, the Rev’it lives in my box of odds and sods in my garage and rarely sees the light of day now.

Some of it depends on what you wear under it. The Rev’it is best over my leather jacket. The Scott is best over a textile jacket - Klim Marrakech now.

Scott is the market leader I think and I got sucked in and bought one.
Although, in use prefer my bmw rainlock over the Scott waterproof.
I find the sleeves length and closure better.
Also has a removable hood for use off the bike.

Thanks for the comments all, picked up a new with tags Scott ladies one for the other half on eBay. Will grab one for myself.

I’ve also got an old rainlock jacket and the trousers that I don’t use at all as I’m sure they are about to crumble away. Wifey has a slightly newer rainlock suit that she adores. I would say the rain lock is better than the Scott suit. Similarly stretchy (wife’s is anyway) but it’s got a hood, much better cuffs, pockets, looks smarter, and has a nicer feel to it. But it’s a lot more expensive and doesn’t pack particular small.

The Scott Ergonomic is probably the best waterproof over jacket on the market right now.

Scott however have pulled out of the motorcyle market - they're concentrating on snow/cycling only now.

That being said, we only have certain sizes/colours left but we do have some available at a nice discount here:

My Rev'it waterproof jacket (style unknown) failed quite soon despite careful handling. The white coating on the inside began disintegrating and particles sticking to my armoured jacket.
I'm very pleased with my Scott Ergo jacket. Despite being yellow isn't discoloured with road film yet.
