scott oiler

You might want to consider one of these instead. I haven't fitted one myself yet, but I am planning to before going away this year. However, a number of people I know have fitted them to their bikes, including Walter Colebatch from Sibirsky Extreme.

nothing but a fancy tutoro....i think scott oiler outdoes that thing it looks to be just as awkward to fit and more expensive

I have a Scott oiler fitted on my X Country so I assume its the same carb as the XChallange.
The easiest and safest way to attach the vacuum is to drill a small hole in the rubber piece under the injector/carb and glue and fit the small bolt that comes with the kit.
I have had this set up now for 2 years without any problems. The oil reservoir can be attached to the sub frame.

Cheers Dave.

Fitted one on both of mine. As above, get to the rubber inlet manifold, remove it, and drill hole for spigot type thing.

Most time consuming bit was getting to the inlet manifold.

Instructions and pics are available from the scotoiler website as a download. When you register your purchase with them they will send the bit you need for the manifold.

I fitted the reservoir high up on the subframe near the fuel filler. Successfully fixing the oil feed pipe to the swingarm is a different matter which I need to revisit!

I've ordered a tutoro manual one now on the say so of a good mate.No pissing about drilling manifold rubers as it's not a thing I like to mess with.
It's cheap and will probably get broken anyway:D
Thanks for the input though:thumb2

Not really. Its not a constant feed oiler. You lift the plunger a few hundred meters from the end of your riding day and the chain gets oiled ready for the next day.

I need to re-fit mine and I have beed told that the best way is to thread it through the swing arm via the already fitted rubber grommets.

(I have been using the Scottoiler for a while now and once you find the right setting its great)
