Just back from 5 days 2400 mile advanced riders' course - 3 countries.
Day 1 Cardiff to Kelso via Wales, Lake District, Hartside pass and Cumbria.
Day 2 Kelso to Portree via Fort William
Day 3 Portree to Ullapool via Applecross pass
Day 4 Ullapool to Loch Lomand via Loch Ness and Oban
Day 5 Loch Lomand to Cardiff via A470
Great fun - 6 trainees and 5 trainers (2 active one retired class 1 police riders.)
Highlights included 85mph along single track mountain roads in Isle of Skye with policeman shouting at me to "power on"! - and the glorious sight of 11 well ridden bikes flowing through magnificent Scottish scenery.
Have to say the locals were hospitality personified and very biker friendly. Weather was probably the best in UK last weekend - only a few hours of rain throughout and some glorious sunsets.
Usual craig plus amusement of one of the policemen heading West from Fort William for Skye thinking he was getting on over us - only to find ferry had stopped running for the night and he had an extra 120 miles before Portree.
Great few days and the added bonus of ROSPA Gold awarded at end -
