Scottish Bike Show 11/12 March

Yes going, start of biking year for me, maybe not as good as the NEC (definitely not) but a day out on bikey stuff for £13. Use it or lose it asaiac. :thumb2

While agreeing with your use it or lose it ethos - I don't really think it would be too much of a loss.............. :rob

It is pish, but I put my name down for IAM stand duty on Saturday afternoon, so at least I get in free :flag

Me too! It's about the only thing that would get me in there! Mind you, the club stands and classic bikes, are good for a look and a blether.

I'm working in Texas next couple of weeks and heading to the Gas Monkey garage at the weekend, not all bad having to work away
The event is bollocks☹️the classic bikes is usually good , the rest is not worth the bother. Pish with a capital P

I pop down via Fife roads, do a couple of hours at the show, then carry on with a bike trip on the back roads up to Crieff, Dunkeld, Alyth and back to Montrose.
Usually round trip of say 250miles. Makes it more of an extended lunch break and bit of a stretch of legs. etc..
I too subscribe to use it, or lose it.
By the way - Alford in Sept great event, been going past 25 odd years on and off.:rob

wife and i going as well but taking the car:mmmm. aye Alford is a good day out, son usually takes part in moped mayhem as part of a team.

Im heading down, missus and myself taking four wheels making a weekend of it. Not been great last couple of times but hey ho its a weekend away looking at bike stuff...

I'm off tomorrow, I don't care if some think its crap compared to NEC, it's nearer to me and can be done in a day. I really go for the classics as there are some really nice old bikes to drool over and reminisce.

Anyone go to the show then and was it worth a visit ?

I was there on the combined Scottish IAM stand. Incredibly busy - we signed up over 50 new associates!

The rest of the show was much the same as always.

No it's not Pish!!!!!!!

What are you arses thinking about. It's your national show for goodness sake. (being very polite here).

I was on the IAM Roadsmart stand (we sold out the £99.00 offers pretty quickly ~ more offers tomorrow, by the way) and the Blood Bike stand. All very positive. Plenty of trade stands and classic bike stuff as well as the usual new bike stuff. I don't see why people are being so negative.

Get out there and support the National show and stop being a shower of wooses! :~). The bacon rolls are pretty good as well, if you pick your stall.

Regards.

Totally agree, when it's gone it's a helluva long way to the NEC !

Well done Glynn. Got the graveyard shift the day so not expecting to be busy. We'll see though.

I wasn't claiming all 50! It really slowed down after 2.30 pm yesterday.

Decided to give it a miss (again) this year, by the time I've paid entry for two of us, fuel, scran (as the wife will insist we 'do lunch') and parking it is going to cost £70 or £80 minimum and that's before I'm tempted to buy any toys .

Maybe next year ?

I had my run down, was a tad wet on run down and back to Montrose, but show was dry.
Stayed about 3.5 hrs.
Good to see it was busy.
Tempted by a KTM 690 Duke to join my stable.
Overall I enjoyed the day out.
Use it or loose it.

Very wet run up from deepest darkest SouthAyrshire , It's a day out :thumb2
