I was at the Scottish Classic M/C Club's Autumn Gathering at St. Fillans today. The weather wasn't bad and there was a large turn-out of classic and modern bikes.
As expected, I bumped into 'Big Jets'
.
His 100GS is now up for sale - so he immediately started giving it a polish before putting up the "For Sale" sign
.
(Actually, he was tasting the oil to see if it was from the engine or gearbox - the likely candidate is a leak from the Oil Pressure Switch
).
£2,750 gets you this fine machine . . . . . .
. . . . . But I would give him a call to get the low-down on it
.
He has problems posting pictures so asked me to mention that its for sale.
There were fewer Airheads than usual at the 'Gathering' but I did spot these:
An R100 - (what ?? A 'CS' ??).
And if 'slow' is your thing . . . .
And I'm not joking. On the way home on my 1958 Ariel 'VH' I came up behind a line of slow traffic - guess what was at the front
. The cars gradually got past and I was able to overtake easily at 60mph.
I took 130 pictures at the event and when I've uploaded them all to Photobucket I'll stick a link on here. So, if you are into Vincents, Guzzis, Laverdas, Real Triumphs, BSAs and some of the rarer stuff - watch this space
.
Bob.
