Scottish Highers pass mark reduced

Did anyone see the article on the front page of th paper earlier in the week saying that the pass mark for a Higher exam in Scotland is being reduced and this can be back dated for 7 years!!!

I'm trying to get hold of a copy or a link to look for more info on this but am struggling. Can anyone tell me which paper it was??

Damn! I was too thick to sit any highers! If only they'd done it years ago I might look more intelligent....... on paper at least!

Heard that in the car on my way to work last week and thought for a mo it was an April Fool! Not so.

Absolute feckin madness. On top of which the new replacement for Standard Grade (old O grade) will be totally internally assessed except for the most able kids.

The certificates will be printed on toilet paper and issued to schools.

Thanks for that. I'd tried to look on the SQA site but missed this bit. As you say, all is not what uit seems... unlike the press to get it wrong
