Scottish Motorcycle Show

Used to go every year when the kids were free :) but got a bit bored and discovered that I was a bit big for a lot of the machines on display.

Then there was the year I got stuck in the field I had paid for the priviledge of parking in, thankfully another visitor towed me out with their Discovery.

But it is something to do at this time of the year.

But I don't think I'll bother.

Just left it no BMW stand but was quite good very busy
Shame with no BMW stand, must be one of those years when they think other measures are more cost effective.

Good that it is busy - hopefully it will be worth the while for the visitors and the exhibitors.

Going tomorrow, disappointing there being no BMW stand though. Last year I asked Jim Allan m/cs why they were not there and they said it cost over £2000 for a stand and was not worth the cost.

Not going.

Was not hugely impressed last year.

Might go next year, although maybe not - might depend on the reports on here...

Going tomorrow. Spoke to Motorrad Dalkieth last week and they said there was no BMW stand. Always worth a sniff round the tools etc!

The show gets worse every year. Plus factor in petrol, parking and 2 x tickets and you're talking about £50 just to get in.....:pullface
No bike gear needed for me just the missus needs a new jacket. So today instead of going to the show we popped along to Victor Devines - brand new Dianese textile jacket and 25% off when asked for a discount.....top guys:thumb2

Not only money saved on the jacket but at least £50 in the hipper for not going to the show....result.....beer and the rugby now.

I've never been, so it would be rude not to this year.

Anyone riding from Angus (Brechin-ish) or further up the A90 who fancies a ride down? I am thinking of pootling down through Fife...

Just be aware that the Forth Bridge is down to two lanes (as was planned for today) until 12:00 noon tomorrow. If you're coming down through Fife, probably best to hit the bridge from the very last on-ramp at Inverkeithing.

Hello....GlynnJ.....paging GlynnJ......! :nenau

Cheers, Schtum.

I was editing my post and got carried away and deleted it :blast

Still planning to go but will take your advice :thumb2

Just back from it, I enjoyed it,the stunt shows were impressive.Seemed to be less stands than the last time i went. However it is a day out and nice to see bikes in the flesh so to speak. Both KTM and Triumph had a good selection of bikes .As has been said no BMW which was a shame since they used to take key place as you went in.The older/vintage bikes had a good turn out.
It is so easy to be cynical about prices etc and whats not there. But its a double edged sword-use it or lose it.

Been and seen........Hadn't been for seven years!

Had a good wander about and met a few folk for a chat, signed up with the IAM and managed not to buy one of 'Saunders' signed books/DVD's but it's right what they say......He's the hardest working motorcycle adventurer!

Had a look at the new Triumph and the S10 but I was mostly looking at the biker 'babes'........!

Vintage section was nice and I had a good look at some Altbergs but didn't dare try them on as my feet had been in my boots most of the afternoon and it was maybe best for all around that they stayed there..........!

Interesting exercise in special building though. Sorry about the pics. Taken on the phone.

Laverda moi? Didn't see it in fact. Much more mundane ... Saw the Guzzi lads though. A very nice V7 tourer on show.

Ok - I won't ask if there was a big guy with a beard, pony-tail and stookie on his leg on the Lavvy stand then.....:)
