Mikey is that an RR45 unit you are using for voltage control?

Is it wise to have it in a hot engine cavity, Rather than in the free flowing air?

They are pretty good but Still prone to overheating

Yes ,it’s an rr45,
Will find out soon enough if it’s too hot,
There should be a reasonable amount of air moving through,it’s also got the drilled clamshell air filter housing.
I can always relocate it if it’s a problem,but I have fitted plenty of both these and upgraded alternator kits with no problem with the reg/rectifier

That's starting to look very very nice.

EME has a kit with a similar Reg / Rec and a wiring harness to get it out in the breeze and connect everything up for around $110- .
Seems a good price if anyone wants to, or has to to , change out the diode board, etc.

This weekends jobs,
Fit new valve guides,recut seats,
Fit new valves,springs,cups and collets,
I have new rockers,shafts and adjusters to fit as well once I get some new pushrods.
Ouch that little lot stung a bit

I may well change these at a later date for some funky split seibenrock ones ,but they will do for now

At least now the heads are in situ,I can take a look what’s needed to make these fit properly
