Has anyone successfully polished out scratches from a BMW screen?. Before I spend a few pounds at whoever has a good secondhand item, how do I remove light scratching from a GS (not GSA) screen?

I've got some plastic polish as well. Can't for the life of me remember what its called but that works really well.

Solvol Autosol will do a fine job. I have used it plenty of times on different plastic, including mobile phone screens. Comes up like new.

Tried many things

I tried several options to bring out scratches in my std R1200GS screen. I tried:

Xerapol - abrasive polish, didn't work
Micromesh - progressively finer sandpaper (used in aviation) - no good
Plastic polish - visor cleaner for aviation dark visors - no good
Plexus - plastic polish and cleaner, works BRILLIANTLY. definitely recommended

Cheers

Try your local caravan accessory shop - they do a polish to take scratches out of caravan plastic windows - may be worth a telephone call.

Halfords sells Plexus for around £7 a bottle. It has worked well on my screen and hemlet visor too.

Thanks for the suggestions. I can't remember seeing Plexus in my local Halfords but they do stock a product by Fenwicks designed for acrylic caravan windows. It apparently needs to be used on a polishing mop and power drill to work on polycarbonate (or so the gent at Fenwicks said).

Any fine abrasive - Toothpaste, brasso, Autosol works. But as g.s.john says, it's elbow grease and patience. There isn't a 'miracle cure'
