Right the past few times i have been out lately the wind is pissing me off, my head is getting lifted and pushed about. I have the screen at the highest setting i have the seat at the low setting. I dont know whether its the screen that is the problem or it is just really windy. I haven't had the bike long or done many miles in the wind.

i am 6ft2 like alot of people here so i am wondering which is the best higher screen and where?. Or are there any mods to try, the helmet i have is the Schuberth R1 if that makes any difference.

I think there's huge amount of turbulance from the standard screen but with my Schuberth C2 it seems that with a shorter screen there is less wind noise with a shorter screen.

It seems that with the shorter screen there is more "pure" airflow and less disturbed air.

I have just purchased a Touratech Screen Extender, which seems to have introduced me to world of silence.

give me a buzz then when your selling! depending on the price of course:augie. as long as you take paypal

I've got a 'Nippy Norman' high-wide screen fitted and it is the dogz...

Won't fit the Adventure I've got on order so will be available at an ebay near you soon :augie

With all due respect to Wully, it all depends on your height, your lid, and a hundred and one other variables. :blast

I've bought 5 different screens by various manufactures and none of them solved the wind noise problems.

For me, it's the lid. It's fantastic in a pure air flow but crap otherwise.

You need to be sure what the problem is before you get the credit card out :(

But a second hand screen will always be second hand, and therefore not cost you a packet if it doesn't work and you sell it on.

NN, Vario, Adventure screen sort things for the vast majority of people, so it's a good first step.

Try lowering the screen

Contrary to many ideas try lowering the screen to half way. The higher is is the more dirty air I get so I keep it low, for me almost to the bottom I am 6', and its great.

Going to give that one a try

TT screen extender

Mess about with the screen height but if that doesn`t work, the TT screen extender will do the job!

Works for me. It`s not silent by any means but can run with my visor up at 90 mph +. (test done on private roads:augie)

I found the screen at it's lowest setting was best and the seat set to high as well. The demo bike I took out had the low seat and the noise was terrible, it's not perfect now but I always wear earplugs anyway which smooth it all out nicely.

Im 6ft 2 also and had the same probs.
Got a GSA screen and winglets, and have seat highest setting at front and lower at rear. Feels nicer and dont get pushed forward, try it.
Have screen 1 from the highest and no wind now.
Any speed at all with visor up also is great:)

I recently fitted a Laminar Lip, after a day of trials it works great and is cheap. just type in laminar lip in google. cost about 55 pound delivered.

no more high pitched wistle, and I found it better to ride with an open face helmet, much less noise, strange but fact.

+1 :thumb2

On my previous GS I had the screen on its lowest setting and had tobinators to lift the front of the screen up. You then have your head in the clean air which is much more pleasant than having the turbulence.

+ another 1 :thumb2

I tried changing the angle throughout the full range, and definitely found it to be better at the lower setting. I'm 6', and wear an Arai Astro R, which gives me no problems with turbulence or noise.
