Hi Folks

Does anybody know if you can get a adventure type screen for the 1100GS, I seem to that height (all 5'8'' of me) that I seem t get a far wee bit of buffeting especially when it's windy, so while in Motorad in glasgow I noticed that the newer screen seem to have wider "shoulders" to the screen and think this would help.

Any suggestion ?

Cheers

Not wanting to blow my own trumpet you understand, but you can put an Adv screen onto an 1100 by utilising a set of Tobinators.

You'll need an Adventure Tobinator kit, plus a couple of spacers from the 1100 Tobinator kit for the front mountings, plus an Adventure screen.

I dont have any pics of one, but you can have a shuftie here www.stopthebuffeting.com and figure it out from the 1100 kit and the Adv kit.

Nippy Norman sells them - you'll need the separate 1100 spacers but I have some I can send your way in a brown envelope if you buy the Adv kit from Nippy.

You can normally pick up an Adv screen secondhand. Make sure you get the two black plastic end caps that fit on either outer side of the screen.

Roddy,

Just to add some feedback from someone who didn't invent a product he is trying to sell...

I went through three screens on my R1150GS before getting some Tobinators from Nippy Norman.

I really don't know why I didn't do it sooner.

Tobinators are soooo good and Nippy Norman's service is second to none. Do a bit of a search through the boards and you will find that I'm not the only one who thinks this way.

I highly reccomend both.

Where's me fiver tobers?

Seriously - no affiliation (I've never even met them) just a happy customer etc etc.

Hi Guys

I've read quite a bit about the tobinators and they seem a good product but I don't think they would solve my problem, as I'm only 5'8'' the buffeting isn't on my head it seems to be my shoulders that get the most of it, thats why I was wondering if the wider 1150 ADV screen would fit the 1100 and being wider would flow the air round my body better.

Nope, the Adv screen as it is wont fit your 1100 as the mounting holes are in the wrong place, and the screen is considerably wider than the mounting onto which you want to fit it.

In order to make it fit, you'd need to make the following:

- a pair of curved spacers (one for each side) to handle the increased width of the Adv screen
- some little sticky out bits to go through the front mounting holes of the Adv screen to take the bolts you'll use
- some adaptor thingys to screw into the current mounting holes of your 1100 to make them further apart to fit the Adv screen
- another pair of spacers to bring the front mounting position out to the correct width

This is kind of what you get in an Adv Tobinator kit and it's all been made for you :D

Sorry - will step out of sales mode again now...for a little while....
