Hopefully someone can help me with the following problem (I have searched this forum extensively, but not managed to find the answer).
After fitting the Touratech windscreen spoiler to my 2010 GSA I quickly discovered that the standard screen is starting to show tiny hairline cracks at all the 4 mounting points. So the two down by the clocks and also the two that fix the screen midway to the metal bar. When ordering the spoiler by phone I specifically asked TT if I needed any extra parts, which they denied for the 2010 GSA. I know there exists a TT hard part 044-0380 but it is not entirely clear to me if this is also recommended / suitable for the GSA. To me it looks like a very simple device that only replaces the plastic points by aluminium down by the clocks. If the problem was caused by the mounting elements being made of plastic I don't see why the screen also shows beginning cracks around the two top mounting points which is made of aluminium already.
Has anyone had similar issues and how did you manage to solve it? I am contemplating adding some metals washers on both sides of the screen and using longer screws so that the force is spread over a bigger surface. Or glue some plastic O-rings to the screen on both sides. Any advice is more than welcome as I found the spoiler a great device to get rid of the windblast when riding.
