screen display screwed

I have just loaded some software and it change my screen display settings I have got them nearly back to how they were. but every other line of text appears slightly out of focus.

current settings are screen resolution 1280 x 1024 pixels and 32bit colour. what do I need to change to get the whole text back in focus.

Sounds very odd.....

Try looking at the font details in control panel....you may have some odd size or type selected

Check your graphics drivers as well..make sure they're the right ones from the manufacturer's website.....this software might have corrupted them or rverted to a different version?


What was the software btw??

there are often posts on all sorts of geek forums we might be able to dig up about the effects of some bits of software.

Bill, it was a cd supplied by the canadian ski instructors association, cant understand why loading it should alter my settings

Bill, fixed it.. I uped the resolution to 1400x1050 all text is nice and clear. still does not explain why it changed though.

I still think your fonts might have been changed by the disk...it might have forced the default into usinga non true-type font that won't show properly in all resolutions.

A proper TT font will show correctly whether it's 800x600 or 1400x1050.....might still be worth checking so that when you use a different screensize it won't look odd.

Are you on a TFT monitor btw?
some fonts won't show properly at different resolutns on them IIRC...different from CRT screens.

I'm just guesing though.

Bill, Yes I am using a lap top with a tft screen, I will have to investigate further tomorrow, every time I run the program the resolution is changed.
