Hey all,

I've recently picked up a wunderlich ergo screen for my 800gs, but even at maximum setting I'm still getting buffeting.

So I'm looking to get an extension for the top.. can anyone recommend one?

Thanks!

Yep - the Wunderlich screen extender - had one on top of the Ergo Vario on my F800GS. It's Wunderlich part no: 20280-001. The also do it in a smoked grey - part no: 20280-002. To buy new try here, for example, rather than pay a premium for UK-based supply.

That's the one I'd seen, but I couldn't find any reviews or pictures of it on top of the ergo vario. How did you find it? :)

It's an excellent piece of kit, I kept mine when I sold the F800GS and moved to an RT...I simply fixed it to the top of the stock RT screen and it was perfect. It has the advantage of being somewhat height adjustable as well as angle adjustable if that makes sense - i.e. because the mounting arm is 'double jointed' you can increase/decrease the gap between the top of the screen and the spoiler. It also never threatened to part company with either bike - evidently I checked the screws periodically but only had to tighten them once in 3 years' use.

The only slight negative is that adding more surface area to the top of the Ergo Vario does not help what is already a fairly wobbly screen. However, I found that I got used to it moving about fairly quickly and the benefit of a completely buffet-free head far outweighed the minimal increase in screen movement.

Here's a pic of the extension mounted on top of the Ergo on my long-departed F800GS. Hope this helps.

Buffet free? You had a smorgasbord on the bike as well? :D

Agour,

I've got the same screen and had the same problem, but tilting back 2 notches gave cleaner air. You may have tried this already...if not it's worth a go.
