New 1200 GSA (2008). Its really noisey in the helmet as a comparison to my V-strom.

Not worried about the buffeting but does a lanmar lip (and or other makes) reduce the noise level of the wind?

Use the search function on this topic and prepare for about 3 weeks worth of reading on the matter regarding screens and so on.

Also - invest in some custom made ear plugs. That will help.

Laminar lip

I have an 07 gsa, for me the laminar lip realy does work in reducing noise,I am 5-8" screen is in the mid position so that my line of sight is just over the lip, helmet is a nolan flip front (not the quietest lid) the reduction in wind noise is very noticeable and I can ride with my visor open at motorway speeds.

The LAminar Lip is a really good mod to make if you find the GS noisy. I fitted one to my 08 Adventure and it makes a huge difference- I found out just how much I was used to it when it fell off at a set of traffic lights....

It is now bolted through the velcro fixings it came with.

Must say I was expecting more from the Laminar lip, its well made and fits on easy, and once fitted stays there no problem at any speed, but without well fitting good quality earplugs, I find the noise still absolutely terrible. Really to the point it sound like a jet behind me.

I'm told its also a age thing.... my son has no problem with it?

Definately the best cure is good earplugs.
