Standard screen on my 1200 seemed reasonable enough me being 5'7''

However bought myself a tour-x as you do bloody vibration now bufatting not that bad just a sort of buzzing around the head.

Any one over come it first time round rather than spend a fortune on screens & tobinators only to end up having to get a peekless hat?

I am also you height with a TourX. I need to put my screen on the highest or second highest setting to greatly reduce the buffetting. (the highest settings seems to work up to 80mph).

I got this on my VStrom - so bad I sold the bike. Now on my R1200GSA - I GET NO BUFFETING, NO BUZZING AND IT'S BLISS....... I too am 5'7".:clap

Could also be a need to change the type of wacky backy you use:augie

Try some Dynamat on the underside of the peak. I've recently done this and it makes a big difference.....for around £10 squid its worth a try.

That's two unknown unknowns that just became known unknowns. I've given up doubt and uncertainty for lent*, so can you please explain?

:confused::confused:

* I plan on bingeing out on lack of information after Easter.

Have Tour X, and use Adventure screen with Winglets and Touratech screen extender. Screen is set at highest notch. Am 6ft 1" and get no noise or buffeting. At 5ft 7" you may not need screen extension. Tried all the cheaper solutions to no avail. Why not blag a ride on an Adventure and see what you get. Have you noticed how good the Tour X is in avoiding sun glaring into your eyes? just a slight tilt of the head and the peak does the job perfectly. Who needs a tinted visor? Good Luck.

The vibration/buzzing noise I was experiencing was coming from the peak (started at 60mph upwards)....dynamat deadens the vibs.

Thanks for all your suggestions .I actually had an adventurer screen on my 1150 it was perfect but didnt have the tour-x then.
Got a bigger Nippy Norman off e/bay to try if not I'll give up on the tour-x but yes they are brilliant in the sun.

Checked out Dynamat on google so thanks for the advise didn't have enough left over for another peek did ya lol.

What did the adv screen set you back with the winglets. I am thinking on the same lines (6ft2")?

Pretty sure the dealer told me around £300 on the 1200 because you need the steel frame not so on the 1150 don't know about the winglets

just ordered one.
the dealer said all the aftermarket makes he had come accross were "very poor" and not worth saving a few quid.
he did me a good deal but the screen, all fitments and winglets were £310:eek:

Agree with your dealer but anyone else about to order should check if 08 Adv screen is even larger as some test articles claim, and of so in what way e.g. taller? wider? etc. Not been able to ascertain details myself yet.
